WOYWW

Morning WOYWW'ers everywhere..

Thank You ever so much for all your lovely comments last week. :) I had the Cortisone injection & have been feeling very dizzy & light headed ever since :( sooooooo not much to report this week :(

I managed to paint a background yesterday & added layers & layers of colour letting them dry in between.. I seem to go through a stage where I think nooooo this is going in the bin & then just as suddenly I like it again!

The eagle eyed will see a packet of dominoes.. I've wanted to have a go at altering some for a while so any tips would be gratefully accepted. :)

Thanks for calling.. I hope to pop by soon.. don't forget to hop over to {Julia's} to see more scrummy workspaces.. hugs, Gez..xx

  1. Oh Gez, a cortisone injection. I had one last year in my shoulder but it didn't work this time. Hope yours does. I sold some dominos at the car boot sale we did earlier 'cos I didn't know what to do with them so I'm no help I'm afraid. Take care.

  4. I am LOVING this picture - you have soo many cool things!!! I must say though I am very intrigued by the three works of art on the top shelf - to the left of the white drawers - the blue background with a birdcage, the orange background with an arch shape and the rectangle piece with the yellow frame and a girl in the middle. I would love to see them close up, they look fab!

  11. Cor Gez, that background makes me think that you're the next Basic Grey Designer - it's certainly a sheet that I'd buy again and again!
Hope the wooziness eases off - cortizone is a strange thing alright, more importantly though, I hope it helps!

  18. Yuck, was that injection really worth it if it mucks you up this much? I hate mainstream medicine with a passion, especially on this side of the pond, but don't get me started on that!! Haven't got a clue about altering, although I'm sure there's others who will be along with lots of ideas.

  21. Everyone around me is suffering health problems, I hope you will soon feel better and the injection works I understand it is not very pleasant.
I bought dominoes too intending to alter them after seeing a tutorial in a Craft Stamper mag 2 years ago and they are still in their box.
A lovely background page in your book.

  24. Hope the injection works, they don't sound too pleasant. I love dominoes, they are fab when used with alcohol inks, or you can make little books with them, the dominoes being the front and back cover or like Sue says great jewellery pieces, I also use them as an embellishment on cards, stamping part of the full image onto them. Hope you enjoy using them. Have a good evening, Tracy Evans (29)

  28. I haven't done anything more adventurous than cards and one calendar so no tips on the dominos I'm afraid!

I'm amazed by how tidy your workplace is - you can actually see the back of the dresser, lol!!! I'm definitely not showing a photo of my space!!

Hope you stop feeling dizzy soon!

    Hope you're feeling better xx

I love your little WOYWW banner hanging across your dresser - I hadn't noticed that before - it's so cute!

I've altered dominoes in the past - great fun, hardest bit is drilling the hole! I've used alcohol inks and stazon ink. Here's a link you may not have seen before

  37. I had intended to stop by and visit anyone who left a comment, then I got confused, so you see how well my strategy worked! If you had thrown that background in the "bin," I would have been there to retrieve it. I love it, and it's good you stuck with it long enough to like it again.

As for dominoes, Sharpies work, and so does Staz-on and rubber stamps. You might want to tea dye them first (soak in hot, strong tea overnight), or bleach them for about an hour if you prefer a brilliant white background. (#1).
